NA speaker and deputy speaker to be elected today

ISLAMABAD: As the National Assembly began its session today, the halls reverberated with the fire of politics. The event, which is being chaired by Raja Pervez Ashraf, the speaker of the National Assembly at the moment, marks a turning point for the country’s democracy.

All eyes were focused on the Speaker’s dais as the meeting got underway, and Raja Pervez Ashraf took on the responsibility of overseeing parliamentary business. But in the midst of the excitement and heated debates, something was noticeably missing. It is still noticeable that Sunni Ittehad Council members are not present in the House.

The crucial election of the National Assembly’s Speaker and Deputy Speaker is at the center of today’s program. This pivotal choice will mold the leadership dynamics in the legislative branch and establish the framework for future governance and legislative discussions.

The newly elected lawmakers can also use the session as an opportunity to restate their commitment to defending democratic values and furthering the interests of the country.
