ISLAMABAD: In a case involving corruption, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) detained Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday.
In a previous corruption case, the chairman of the NAB had issued arrest warrants for Fawad Chaudhry.
The arrest warrant was posted on Twitter by Fawad Ch’s spouse, Hiba Fawad.
According to section 9(a) of the NAO 1999, the warrants accused Fawad Chaudhry of corruption and corrupt practices and demanded his immediate arrest.
After allowing Fawad to be questioned by the NAB in connection with a corruption case, a judicial magistrate had him taken back into custody at Adiala Jail.
Following a nationwide crackdown on the PTI following its chairman Imran Khan’s arrest, which sparked the May 9 riots, Fawad left the party.

Despite stating at the time that he was “taking a break from politics,” Fawad was spotted at the June Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) launch event, which is led by Jahangir Khan Tareen.
Fawad has not said, though, if he is formally a member of the IPP, which a number of PTI leaders have joined since May 9.
