ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a clarification regarding the registration process for ‘B’ form, stating that previously issued ‘B’ forms will remain valid and have not been cancelled.
According to NADRA’s official social media post, parents of children who have already obtained ‘B’ form and need to apply for a passport, or who are between the ages of 10 and 18 and are applying for ‘B’ form for the first time, should accompany their child to their nearest NADRA centre.
Additionally, parents can also submit their applications through NADRA’s PakID mobile app. NADRA has assured the public that there is no truth to the rumours of previously issued ‘B’ forms being cancelled and has advised people to follow its official social media platforms for updates and more information.
The Family Registration Certificate (FRC) issued by NADRA is an important document that confirms the family structure of an individual.

The Family Registration Certificate (FRC) contains essential details about family members and can be obtained in three categories:
- By Birth: The certificate lists family details, including parents and siblings.
- By Marriage: The certificate includes the spouse and children.
- By Adoption: The certificate provides details of the guardian.
It is important to know that if an individual is not registered with NADRA or does not have a 13-digit Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number, his/her data will not be included in the Family Registration Certificate (FRC). Therefore, if the applicant is a minor or a minor, the applicant should first go for CNIC or B-Form.
To apply for a Family Registration Certificate (FRC), citizens can visit their nearest NADRA Registration Center (NRC) or submit an application through the Pak-Shenqat website. Overseas Pakistanis can also obtain the certificate by visiting the office of the relevant mission abroad.
The fee for issuing FRC remains at Rs 1,000 for both general and executive categories, effective from February 2025.
