KARACHI: NADRA has simplified the process of buying and selling Sindh registered vehicles. Now citizens can transfer the ownership of a vehicle after getting biometric verification done from home through the Pak ID app. Through this facility, citizens will be able to save time and office visits.
According to a NADRA spokesperson, this initiative has been taken in collaboration with the Sindh government to avoid fraud and legal complications in the purchase and sale of vehicles.
Earlier, biometric verification was mandatory in the offices of Excise and Taxation Sindh, for which citizens had to visit the offices repeatedly.
To transfer the ownership of a vehicle, biometric verification is first done, then a written sale agreement is prepared on stamp paper, which is signed by the buyer and the seller.
After this, an application is submitted to the Civic Center or Excise office in Karachi and the relevant fees and token taxes are paid. After verification, a new smart registration card is issued in the name of the buyer within 5 to 15 working days.
The documents required for the seller include the original registration book or smart card, copy of the national identity card, signed application, sales agreement, clearance certificate and passport size photograph.
For the buyer, a copy of the CNIC, passport size photograph, valid vehicle tax certificate, proof of residence and vehicle inspection certificate are mandatory.
