ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) cleared Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference. This decision is a significant step forward for Sharif’s bid to succeed Modi as prime minister of the nation.

His lifetime disqualification as a parliamentarian now stands in the way of the three-time prime minister’s ability to run in the elections scheduled for February 8, 2024; the PML-N is hoping for a favorable result in that regard as well.
