NDMA releases fresh report on rain and flood damages across Pakistan

NDMA issues alert over heavy rains, flash floods and landslides till June 15

ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released the latest report on the damage caused by torrential rains and floods across the country.

According to the report, at least 802 people have lost their lives and 1,088 others have been injured due to heavy rains and floods since June 26.

The NDMA said that the highest number of deaths occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where 479 people died and 347 were injured.

Punjab had 165 deaths and 584 injuries, while Sindh had 57 deaths and 75 injuries.

The report further said that 24 people died and 5 were injured in Balochistan, while 45 people died and 45 were injured in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) had 24 deaths and 29 injuries, while Islamabad had 8 deaths and 3 injuries.

The NDMA also said that so far 7,465 houses have been damaged and at least 5,584 livestock have been swept away in the floods.
