ISLAMABAD: Providing major relief to small solar consumers, NEPRA has abolished the license requirement for systems with a capacity of 25 kW and below.
According to a spokesperson for the Power Division, this step was taken on the instructions of Energy Minister Awais Leghari, under which the Power Division had written a formal letter to NEPRA requesting to abolish the licenses for small solar consumers.
Following the Power Division’s letter, NEPRA issued a notification, under which not only the license requirement was abolished but also the per kilowatt fee for small solar consumers has been abolished.
