LAHORE: Commuters on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2) are advised to prepare their wallets because they will have to bear higher toll charges from July 5, 2026. In line with this, the National Highway Authority (NHA) raised its toll rates by 7 percent in an official notification issued recently, which stated that the revised toll rate shall be in effect till April 23, 2027.

The hike was introduced under the concession agreement between NHA and Motorway Operations and Rehabilitation Engineering (Private) Limited (MORE), a subsidiary of Frontier Works Organization (FWO). The organization undertakes the overlay, rehabilitation, and modernization work of the M-2 Motorway.

The Revised M-2 Motorway Toll Charges

Vehicle Category New Toll (Rs.)
Cars, Jeeps & Taxis 1,430
Wagons 2,390
Coasters 3,350
Buses 4,770
Trucks (2 & 3 Axle) 6,210
Articulated Trucks 7,980

The rates have been adjusted according to the updated per kilometre charge as outlined in the concession agreement.

Pakistan’s first motorway links Lahore with Islamabad. As one of the country’s busiest highways, the M-2 sees thousands of passengers and commercial vehicles traverse its length daily.

The current increase will support the ongoing rehabilitation and modernisation of this vital piece of motorway infrastructure.

All motorists should take into account these revised charges when they plan their trips on the M-2, as they came into effect today (July 5, 2026).
