Non-bailable arrest warrant issued for KP CM Sohail Afridi

ISLAMABAD: The court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi for his absence in a case of making misleading allegations against state institutions and damaging his reputation.

Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah of Islamabad heard the case filed against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, against whom the NCCIA has registered a case under the PECA Act.

NCIA officials and the investigation officer of the case appeared in the court, while Sohail Afridi and his lawyer did not appear in the court.

On December 11, the court issued a bailable arrest warrant for Sohail Afridi.

The court adjourned the further hearing of the case till January 3, 2026.

Earlier, Legal proceedings were initiated against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and others after they were declared proclaimed offenders.

Under the orders of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), notices have been posted at multiple locations, including the judicial complex, summoning the accused to appear in court.

Sohail Afridi, Meena Khan, Amjad Khan, Shafeeullah Jan, and Amjad Afridi have been directed to present themselves before the court.

The notices, issued under Section 87 of the ATC, state that the accused have either failed to comply with court orders or are absconding.

They are warned that this is the final opportunity to appear in court, and failure to do so will result in legal action.
