Islamabad court issues non-bailable arrest warrant for CM KP

ISLAMABAD: The court has ordered the arrest and production of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi in a case of misleading allegations against state institutions.

The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi in a case of misleading allegations against state institutions and damaging their reputation.

During the hearing of the case on Saturday, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi did not appear in court. The court, expressing its displeasure over his continuous absence and non-compliance with court orders, ordered the issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant for him.

The case against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister was registered on the basis of making serious and misleading allegations against state institutions. The prosecution maintains that Sohail Afridi deliberately tried to damage the reputation of the institutions through his statements, which is a crime under the law.

The court has ordered the relevant authorities to arrest the accused and present him before the court at the next hearing.
