ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s armed forces coordinated air and ground operations under ‘Operation Ghazb-ul-Haq’ in response to the unprovoked aggression of the Afghan Taliban.
According to reliable reports as of around 3:40 am on Friday, February 27, the Afghan Taliban have suffered heavy casualties and material losses, while several important military installations, headquarters, and border posts have been destroyed or captured.
According to security sources, Pakistan’s operation is still ongoing, and more targets are being targeted.
Casualties and Damaged Facilities in Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq
According to security sources, the total number of Afghan Taliban operatives killed after operations in various phases has reached 133, while more than 200 have been injured.
Earlier, 44, then 58, and 72 deaths were reported; however, the latest update has confirmed the overall figures.
During the operations, 27 posts of the Afghan Taliban have been destroyed, and 9 have been captured, while in addition, 2 corps headquarters, 3 brigade headquarters, 3 battalion headquarters, 2 sector headquarters, 2 ammunition depots and a logistics base have also been destroyed.
In addition, more than 80 tanks, artillery guns, and armored personnel carriers have also been targeted.
PAF strikes: Major targets hit in Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Angora, and Nangarhar
According to security sources, the Pakistan Air Force destroyed two brigade headquarters in Kabul through effective air strikes. A corps headquarters, a brigade headquarters, an ammunition depot, and a logistics base were targeted in Kandahar, while a corps headquarters was also destroyed in Paktia.
A large ammunition depot in Nangarhar was destroyed after being pinpointed, causing severe damage to Taliban war equipment. According to security sources, more airstrikes are underway, and major targets are being targeted.
According to security sources, Pakistani security forces destroyed a large part of Angourada on the Pak-Afghan border, while security forces are effectively targeting Afghan Taliban positions in the border area.
The Pakistan Army conducted effective ground operations in Kurram, Mohmand, Bajaur, South Waziristan, Nawapas, and Torkham sectors. Several forward posts, including Kharlachi Terminal and Dawood Post, were destroyed or evacuated. At some places, Afghan Taliban personnel abandoned their positions and fled.
4 Afghan Taliban operatives were also arrested near Torkham, while a terrorist who tried to infiltrate the Bajaur sector was captured alive, who gave his name as Abdullah.
According to security sources, no posts of Pakistani forces have been captured, nor have there been any reports of any personnel being killed or arrested.
