ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Youth Program Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan met with German Ambassador to Pakistan Anka Lippel at the Prime Minister’s Office. The meeting discussed in detail the enhancement of mutual cooperation in the fields of youth education, skills development and technical and vocational training.
During the meeting, German Ambassador Anka Lippel said that the German government intends to significantly increase the number of students from Pakistan studying in Germany.
She said that currently about 6,000 Pakistani students are studying in Germany, while there are plans to increase this number to 10,000 in the coming years. She expressed her determination that Germany wants to further promote educational, professional and academic exchanges with Pakistan, especially in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
On this occasion, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan briefed the German Ambassador about the aims and objectives of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, past achievements, ongoing projects and future programs.
He said that the Prime Minister’s Youth Program is striving to provide youth with education, skills, employment and leadership opportunities. He also highlighted the role of the National Youth Council and said that this council is playing an advisory role in policy-making related to youth.
The meeting also discussed the Green Youth Movement, which is an important initiative under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program. The movement aims to mobilize youth to play an active role in environmental protection, combating climate change and playing an active role in eco-friendly activities.
The German ambassador appreciated the performance of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program and praised the initiatives related to youth engagement, skill development and employment. At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue cooperation in education, technical training, skill development and youth exchange programs.
