Pakistan introduces “Golden Hour” air ambulance service, first test saves life in Mianwali

LAHORE: Pakistan has introduced a “Golden Hour” air ambulance service, bringing critical emergency care to civilians, here on Sunday.

As per the details, the new service was put to the test recently when 40-year-old Halima Bibi from Mianwali was seriously injured after falling from a roof. Given her critical condition, immediate transfer to a major hospital was necessary. Surgeons at District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Mianwali recommended immediate transfer to Rawalpindi for advanced treatment.

On receiving the call for help, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif immediately facilitated the transfer of Halima Bibi through the newly launched Air Ambulance Service. Under the supervision of Dr. Razon Nasir, medical experts performed a successful operation on Halima Bibi in Rawalpindi.

A trial run of the Air Ambulance Service enabled Halima Bibi to be quickly evacuated from Mianwali to Rawalpindi, significantly affecting her chances of survival.

Halima Bibi’s family expressed deep gratitude to the Chief Minister, calling her a “blessing” and prayed for her continued success.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said in a message to the family that whoever saved one life saved the life of the entire humanity, I followed the order of Allah and am thankful that we were able to help, my heartfelt wish. I want to end this problem. The suffering of every citizen.”

The Chief Minister also appealed to the nation to pray for Halima Bibi’s speedy recovery and continued success of this important initiative.
