KARACHI: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has issued instructions to prepare a feasibility study for starting a ferry service from Karachi to Iraq. The aim of this initiative is to provide easy and affordable travel facilities to the pilgrims.
Addressing a function in Karachi, Mohsin Naqvi said that a large number of Pakistani pilgrims visit Iraq every year, but many people face difficulties due to the high cost of air travel. If the ferry service is started, it will not only make travel easier but will also significantly reduce costs.
The Interior Minister also visited the headquarters of the Pakistan Coast Guards on this occasion. He visited the Martyrs’ Memorial and paid tribute to the martyrs. During this, he appreciated the performance of the Coast Guards and directed to further intensify operations against drugs and smuggling.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the Coast Guards are an important institution that simultaneously performs its responsibilities on land and sea. All resources should be utilized to eliminate smuggling and strict action should be taken against the mafia.
