NEW YORK: (By Rizwan Abbasi) – In a recent United Nations Security Council meeting, Pakistan categorically rejected India’s terrorism allegations, calling them baseless and misleading. Gul Qaiser Sarwani, Counselor at Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the UN, dismissed India’s narrative as “factually incorrect and a deliberate attempt to malign Pakistan.”
Sarwani emphasized that India’s efforts to link Pakistan with terrorism are aimed at diverting attention from its own internal problems and the grave human rights violations in Kashmir. He reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory, and the only solution lies in an impartial and free plebiscite in accordance with UN resolutions, which India must acknowledge.
The Pakistani diplomat further asserted that while India accuses Pakistan of fostering terrorism, it is, in fact, India that has been complicit in supporting terrorist activities to destabilize Pakistan. Sarwani pointed to India’s backing of groups like Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). He also cited the case of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, whose arrest and conviction were undeniable proof of India’s involvement in terrorism within Pakistan.
Sarwani highlighted that India’s terrorist activities are not limited to the region alone but extend globally, including the recent incidents of political assassinations in North America. He called on the international community to hold India accountable for its sponsorship of terrorism and urged India to halt its illegal actions in Kashmir and comply with UN resolutions.
