Pakistan slams Indian allegation on attacking Golden Temple

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan government has denied the Indian allegation of hitting the Golden Temple(a Holy place of the Sikh Community) with missiles and drones on the night of the Indian attacks in Pakistan.

Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said, “We categorically reject the allegations that Pakistan attempted to target the Golden Temple, the most revered place in the Sikh faith. We hold all places of worship in the highest esteem and cannot think of targeting a holy site like the Golden Temple.”

It was India that attacked different holy sites in Pakistan on the night of May 6 and 7, 2025. The allegations levelled by the Indian side cannot shift attention from this unacceptable act.

The FO official stated that Pakistan is the proud guardian of several Sikh sacred places and welcomes thousands of Sikh pilgrims from around the world each year.

Pakistan also allows visa-free entry to the Gurdwara Sahib Kartarpur via the Kartarpur Corridor. In that context, any accusation about Pakistan’s attempt to strike the Golden Temple is completely false, he added.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday categorically rejected baseless and misleading claims, propagated by segments of Indian media, alleging the use of Pakistan’s Shaheen missile during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos (BM).

In an official statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan condemned the allegations as “unfounded” and part of a broader campaign of disinformation.
