Pakistan to play West Indies in opening ODI today

TARABA: The first ODI between the West Indies cricket team and the Pakistan cricket team will be played in Trinidad today.

The match will start at 11 pm Pakistan time. Both teams practiced in Trinidad.

Captain Mohammad Rizwan says that spinners Abrar Ahmed and Sufyan Muqeem can prove to be trump cards in the ODI series against the West Indies.

The first Day-Night ODI will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Taraba, Trinidad.

Two-time world champions West Indies, are considering the series as important to directly qualify for the ODI World Cup.

Earlier, in 2023, the West Indies failed to qualify for the World Cup to be held in India for the first time in history.

Mohammad Rizwan will captain the Green Shirts in the ODIs, while Babar Azam, Abdullah Shafiq, and Naseem Shah have also joined the team.

It should be noted that Pakistan defeated the West Indies 2-1 in the T20 series in Florida.
