Pakistani Senator Faisal Saleem Rahman Joins IMF & World Bank Board

Islamabad: For the first time in Pakistan’s history, a Pakistani lawmaker has been appointed as a member of the parliamentary board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank. Senator Faisal Saleem Rahman, representing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been elected to this significant position.

The parliamentary board, which consists of representatives from 140 countries, plays a crucial role in proposing reforms aimed at achieving economic stability and poverty eradication.

Senator Faisal, who began his tenure in the Senate of Pakistan in March 2021, will serve until March 2027. This appointment marks a milestone in Pakistan’s involvement in international financial governance.
