Petition filed in Supreme Court for transfer of PTI founder to Shifa Hospital

Govt was willing to shift Imran Khan, but dispute over family member halts move

ISLAMABAD: An important petition has been filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan regarding the transfer and treatment of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

The petition has requested the Supreme Court to order the immediate transfer of the PTI founder to the renowned Shifa Hospital in Islamabad so that he can undergo a complete and satisfactory medical examination.

The petition has taken the position that the PTI founder is facing eye problems, so he should undergo a detailed examination by an ophthalmologist.

It has been further said that his personal physicians Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Asim Yousaf should be given immediate access so that they can ensure his medical examination and treatment under their supervision.

The petitioners say that providing proper medical facilities to the PTI founder is his fundamental right and keeping him away from his physicians is not only inappropriate but also contrary to the requirements of human rights.

The court has also been asked to issue orders to have the PTI founder treated under the supervision of his personal doctors to avoid any possible complications.

The petition has been filed by the PTI founder’s lawyers Latif Khosa, Shahbaz Khosa and Hamza Sattar, which also includes a request for an urgent hearing from the Supreme Court.
