ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir says that the police is the first line of defense in protecting the public, a strong, professional and people-friendly police force is indispensable for internal security.
According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the National Police Academy Islamabad, where he was warmly welcomed by the Commandant of the National Police Academy. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Minister of State were also present on the occasion.
A well-dressed police contingent presented a guard of honor to the Field Marshal, who laid flowers at the memorial of police martyrs and offered Fateha. Syed Asim Munir paid tribute to the police martyrs.
On this occasion, the Field Marshal met with officers of the Police Service of Pakistan. The Field Marshal praised the sacrifices of the police in dealing with the challenges of terrorism, crime and internal security.
The Field Marshal also spoke to the Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police ASPs. Addressing the IGs, Additional IGs and senior police officers, he said that the police is the first line of defense in protecting the public.
A strong, professional and people-friendly police force is indispensable for internal security. Maintaining law and order is the sacred responsibility of the police. The armed forces will always stand by the brave and dignified police.
The Field Marshal was briefed on the School for High Impact Elite Law Enforcement Development. The Field Marshal emphasized the importance of promoting public trust in law enforcement agencies.
The police leadership reiterated its commitment to advance institutional reforms to improve the quality of policing.
