DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The terrorist attack on the Police Training School in Dera Ismail Khan was foiled by security forces after a vigorous operation.
The sounds of firing and explosions were also heard at the time of the attack.
During this time, the forces foiled the terrorists’ plans and killed 5 attackers, including a suicide bomber.
7 brave police officers were martyred during the counter-attack.
According to police officials, the operation was completed late at night in which the police and other security agencies participated jointly.
The terrorists attacked at around 8:30 pm; however, the forces took immediate counter-action and surrounded them within the training school premises.
According to DG Public Relations Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, about 200 police recruits and officials present in the training school at the time of the attack were safely evacuated.
During the operation, the NADRA office and all the blocks of the school were declared cleared.
Hospital sources have confirmed that 13 injured personnel have been shifted to the trauma center of DHQ Hospital, where they are being provided medical assistance.
