Polling for election duty staff underway ahead of AJK General Elections 2026

MUZAFFARABAD: Polling for government employees assigned election duties is underway in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) ahead of the 2026 General Elections.

Chief Election Commissioner of AJK, Justice (Retd.) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal, visited several polling stations established for election staff, including Ali Akbar Awan High School, KG School, Chehla University Campus, and Degree College. During the visit, he reviewed the polling process as well as the security arrangements.

Senior Member of the Election Commission Khawaja Muhammad Ahsan and Election Commission Secretary Raja Shakeel Khan accompanied the Chief Election Commissioner during the inspections.

Speaking to the media, Justice (Retd.) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal said that the AJK General Elections would be held on July 27 as scheduled, adding that all necessary arrangements for the polls had been completed.

He emphasized that the election process would not be allowed to be sabotaged under any circumstances and assured that comprehensive security measures were in place. He also said polling for government employees on election duty was continuing smoothly, peacefully, and efficiently.
