ISLAMABAD: A strong 5.5 magnitude earthquake rattled Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and many districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, on Friday Morning.
The Meteorological Department’s National Seismic Monitoring Center said that the earthquake was felt in numerous other cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The earthquakes were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar, Swat, and other places in northern Pakistan.
The seismic agency said that the quake’s epicenter was in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush area at a depth of 195 kilometers. The PMD recorded it at 8:17 p.m. (PST).
There have been no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
