President Alvi requests a NOC so Shaukat Khanum Hospital can host a fundraising event

ISLAMABAD: Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust’s No-Objection Certificate (NOC) was demanded by President Dr. Arif Alvi in order to host the fundraising event in Islamabad.

The federal capital administration withdrew the NOC one day prior, and Alvi stated that this action would impact the charity hospital’s construction.

Alvi wrote on X, the former Twitter platform, “Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital is a world recognized, state of the art facility that has been providing cutting edge top of the line treatment for poor cancer patients since its inception.”

He continued, “We all are very aware of the costly cancer burden of Pakistan having been personally involved in preventing & treating oral cancer for my entire life and Mrs. Samin Alvi in spreading awareness for early diagnosis of breast cancer to save lives.”

The president believed that thousands of people who are still untreated could potentially die as a result of the action.

“Cureative healthcare is severely lacking in Pakistan. We should support all forms of private philanthropy, but especially this exceptional one from SKMH. The President declared, “The cancellation of the fund-raising NOC must be reversed.”
