ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is likely to pay an important official visit to China this month, for which the dates and meetings are being finalized.
According to sources, the Prime Minister’s visit is expected from May 23 to 25, during which the focus will be on further strengthening the strategic relations between the two countries.
Sources say that during the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold high-level meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and his counterpart Prime Minister Li Keqiang.
In these meetings, detailed discussions will be held on further expanding the “iron-clad” strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and the ongoing cooperation under CPEC.
The Prime Minister is also expected to attend special events organized in connection with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
The visit has also taken on added significance as several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and important agreements are also expected to be signed between the two countries to promote cooperation in various fields.
According to sources, the visit will give a new impetus to bilateral economic ties and ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability.
