PTI’s Yasmin Rashid shifted to hospital after health worsens

Lahore ATC sentences PTI leaders in May 9 violence cases

LAHORE: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Dr. Yasmin Rashid has been shifted to Services Hospital after falling ill in Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore. The information emerged on Wednesday, indicating that she is in a critical condition.

Documents from Kot Lakhpat Jail authorities describe Dr. Rashid as a “key prisoner”. She had not eaten since Wednesday morning and was dehydrated due to multiple episodes of vomiting, documents show.

On arrival at Services Hospital, Dr. Rashid, a cancer survivor, underwent several medical tests after she developed severe abdominal pain. Hospital authorities confirmed that she is now under 24-hour surveillance to closely monitor his condition.

Dr. Rashid has been in jail for months, facing multiple charges related to the May 9 riots that began last year after the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan. Several PTI leaders, activists and supporters were arrested after these riots, many of whom are still behind bars or have been repeatedly arrested on various charges.
