The National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) issues computerized National Identity Card to Pakistanis living in the country and abroad. However, now there is a possibility of a major change in this identity document.
A resolution has been unanimously passed in the Punjab Assembly, which proposes to register the blood group of the cardholder in the National Identity Card.
Member of Punjab Assembly Ahmed Iqbal Chaudhry presented this important resolution in the house. The resolution states that registering blood group in the National Identity Card can be a great guarantee of saving the lives of the public by providing timely blood in case of accidents and emergencies.
The resolution further states that in case of serious accidents or sudden disasters, hospitals and blood banks face difficulties due to not knowing the blood group. If the blood group is registered in the National Identity Card, then the lives of the patients can be saved by providing the required blood in a timely manner.
