LAHORE: The Punjab government has taken an important step towards modernizing the prison system by introducing a special mobile application for the convenience of the families of prisoners.

Through the new app, citizens will now be able to schedule a time to meet prisoners from home, which will help make the current visitation system more convenient, organized, and transparent.

According to officials, the main objective of this mobile app is to provide modern and effective facilities to citizens visiting prisons so that they do not have to wait in long queues for a visit and unnecessary rush can also be avoided.

This initiative will not only save the time of the citizens but will also make it possible for the prison administration to schedule the visits in a better way.

Government officials say that through the app, families will be able to choose the date and time of the visit as per their convenience, after which they will be able to easily meet by reaching the jail at the appointed time. This will improve discipline in the prisons and will also facilitate administrative matters.

The Punjab government says that providing maximum government services to the public through digital platforms is one of its priorities. Under this vision, modern technology is being promoted in various government departments so that citizens can get fast, transparent, and quality services.
