When will it rain in Pakistan? PMD issues weather forecast

ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has issued a fresh weather alert for various areas of the Pothohar region, predicting rain with thundershowers and heavy rain at some places in the next few hours.

According to the Meteorological Department, a weather system consisting of westerly winds is affecting the Pothohar region, due to which there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and gusty winds in Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Gujar Khan, Tala Gang, Jhelum, Mangla, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Fateh Jang and surrounding areas during the next 2 to 4 hours.

When will the new series of rains start?

The Meteorological Department says that the intensity of rain may be higher in some areas, due to which there is a possibility of water accumulation in low-lying areas, traffic flow is affected, and weak infrastructure is damaged.

Problems like falling trees and temporary power outages may also occur due to strong winds. According to meteorologists, in view of the current weather conditions, citizens should avoid unnecessary travel, especially during rains, and be careful not to go near open fields, rivers, and weak buildings. Motorcyclists and drivers should also travel cautiously and reduce speed in bad weather.

The Meteorological Department has also directed the district administration, rescue agencies and related departments to remain alert to deal with possible emergencies so that timely relief operations can be ensured in the event of any untoward incident.

The Meteorological Department has appealed to the public to take precautionary measures in view of the uncertain weather conditions and trust only weather information issued from authentic sources.

The organization says that the latest weather conditions are being continuously monitored and more alerts will be issued if necessary.
