LAHORE: In the past 24 hours, Punjab’s Health Department has reported an alarming spike in dengue cases, confirming 11 new patients.
The total number of confirmed cases in the province has now reached 15,113, with Lahore being the hardest-hit, recording 6,983 cases this year alone, including seven new cases reported yesterday.
Multan is also grappling with the dengue outbreak, as four new patients were confirmed yesterday. Currently, 11 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, with Lahore district hospitals treating three patients.

The winter cold seems ineffective against dengue, raising concerns about the virus’s resilience in different weather conditions. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to combat the ongoing outbreak.
