Punjab launches fast track cell for quick GP fund payments

Govt likely to raise salaries 7% and pensions 5% in upcoming budget

LAHORE: A fast track cell has been set up in the Accountant General Punjab office to provide GP fund money to retired government employees quickly and without any hassle.

The cell was inaugurated by Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Ahmed Raza Sarwar. The ceremony was attended by Accountant General Punjab Nomana Gulrukh, officers of the AG office and employees of various departments retiring in 2025.

Addressing the gathering, Additional Chief Secretary Punjab said that the aim of the fast track cell is to facilitate the retiring employees so that they are not stranded and can get their due money quickly.

Accountant General Punjab Nomana Gulrukh said that the new system will increase transparency, while the annual data of each employee will be updated automatically. This will make it easier to pay the GP fund money along with submitting the file at the time of retirement.

He further said that if any employee faces difficulties in obtaining GP fund, the doors of his office are always open. At the end of the ceremony, shields were also distributed among the recently retired employees of various departments.
