Quetta: The Balochistan Government has decided to increase the number of buses in its initiative of expanding the public transport facilities for the residents of the province, according to the secretary of public transport, Mr. Hayat Khan Kakar.
21 new buses will be included in the fleet, including 4 pink buses for the female passengers of the city. He added.
“These buses will be operated in Quetta and Turbat, and as many as 12 new green buses will be included in the fleet already operating in Quetta. These buses will operate on new routes to provide transport service to other areas of the provincial capital,” said the secretary of transport.
The buses will be operational in June as the prerequisite process has been completed and the tenders have been issued. he said.
Mr Kakar stated that the provincial administration intends to extend green and pink bus services to Kolchak and the Dasht region as well.
Initially, the divisional headquarters of Makran will have 4 buses, while the pink buses will be routed in Quetta in the first phase.
However, in the first phase of green line buses, the provisional capital got 8 green buses, currently providing the transport facility to the masses of the city from Sariab to IT University.
