RAHIM YAR KHAN: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program Senator Rubina Khalid visited Sheikh Zayed Hospital Rahim Yar Khan where she visited the injured women in the accident that happened yesterday. MPA Sardar Habib-ur-Rehman, MS of the hospital and BISP officers were also present on the occasion.
Chairperson BISP inquired about the well-being of the injured women and directed the concerned authorities to ensure the provision of best medical facilities to the victims and provide them with all possible assistance. On this occasion, Senator Rubina Khalid said that a full investigation into the incident is underway and strict legal action will be taken against those responsible. Under Benazir Income Support Program, the distribution of scholarship funds is done through partner banks, however, in the context of this incident, a notice has been issued and a heavy fine has also been imposed on the negligence of the concerned bank.
Senator Rubina Khalid said that Rs. 1 million each is being provided to the families of the deceased women while Rs. 300,000 each is being provided to the injured. She said that the treatment of the injured women will be completely free and the educational scholarships of the children of the affected families will also continue so that their education is not affected.
Later, Senator Rubina Khalid also visited the houses of four deserving BISP women who died in the tragic incident, Anwar Mai (Chak 123), Parveen Bibi (Chak 123), Shahnaz Khatun (Chak 125) and Aleema Khatun (Chak 114). She prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased women while expressing her heartfelt sympathy to the families.
On this occasion, Senator Rubina Khalid said that BISP stands with the affected families in this difficult time and all possible support will be provided to them.
