Ramadan 2026

ISLAMABAD: Secretary General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, Khalid Ijaz Mufti, has shared predictions regarding the possible dates for the beginning of Ramadan as well as Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan.

According to Khalid Ijaz Mufti, there is a strong possibility that the Ramadan moon may be sighted on February 18. If the moon is sighted as expected, the first fast of Ramadan is likely to be observed on February 19 across the country.

He further stated that the Shawwal moon is expected to be sighted on March 20, which would place Eid-ul-Fitr on March 21.

Regarding Eid-ul-Adha, Khalid Ijaz Mufti predicted that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah is likely to be sighted on May 16, making May 17 the first day of Dhul-Hijjah. Based on this, Eid-ul-Adha may be celebrated on May 27.

He clarified that these dates are based on astronomical calculations and predictions, while the final announcements will be made by the official Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after moon sighting meetings.
