LAHORE: To ensure implementation of traffic rules in Punjab, it has been decided to impose a fine of Rs 2,000 on those riding motorcycles without indicators.
Punjab Traffic Police has warned citizens to make the use of turn indicators mandatory, otherwise they will face strict action.
According to a spokesperson for the Traffic Police, not using indicators is not only a violation of the law but also a major cause of road accidents. Not using indicators while making sudden turns or changing lanes does not inform other drivers in time, which can result in dangerous accidents.
Traffic officials said that repairing or replacing motorcycle indicators does not cost much, this work is possible for about Rs 400, precious human lives can be saved through a small cost, so citizens should take this matter seriously.
Along with this, the Punjab Traffic Police also emphasized the mandatory use of helmets and directed for proper maintenance of motorcycles.
The agency clarified that indiscriminate action will be taken against those violating traffic rules and checking is being tightened to make roads safer across the province. Citizens have been appealed to show responsibility and ensure compliance with the laws.
