ISLAMABAD: The Power Division has released a two-month performance report of its long-term industrial concession (surplus electricity) package, showing billions of rupees in relief for industrial consumers.

According to the spokesperson, the figures cover December 2025 and January 2026 under the three-year package. A total of 127,686 industrial consumers received benefits amounting to Rs12.125 billion, representing about 46% of the 278,961 registered industrial consumers.

Industries, both large and small, were given electricity at a discounted rate of Rs 10.3 per unit through the surplus power facility. During the two months, 1,176 million units of electricity were sold to industries under the package, accounting for 23.8% of total industrial power consumption in that period.

In December 2025, industries consumed 557 million units under the scheme, nearly 23% of the month’s total industrial consumption, resulting in relief of Rs5.743 billion. About 125,829 consumers (45%) benefited that month.

In January 2026, consumption under the package rose to 619 million units, about 24.5% of industrial usage, providing relief of Rs6.382 billion to 127,686 consumers (46%).

The spokesperson said the initiative reflects the government’s efforts to support industrial growth, adding that Federal Minister for Power Sardar Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari is personally monitoring the measures and receiving regular updates.
