Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council predicts Eid-ul-Fitr on March 21 in Pakistan

UAE public sector to observe 4-Day Eid Holidays

ISLAMABAD: Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be celebrated on Saturday, March 21 in Pakistan. This announcement was made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council.

According to the council, due to the lack of possibility of sighting the Shawwal moon on Thursday, March 19, the first Shawwal is expected to be celebrated on March 21.

Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council Secretary General Khalid Ijaz Mufti said that the new moon will appear on March 19 at 6:23 am. At the time of sunset, the moon will be only 13 hours old. If the moon was 19 hours old, it could have been seen.

He said that despite the clear information, the moon will not be visible with the eye, binoculars or telescope. Due to this, Ramadan will consist of 30 days.

According to the Ruet-e-Hilal Council, due to the lack of sighting of the moon on March 19, there is a strong possibility of celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on March 21 across the country. The government and religious institutions will provide official information to the public about the day of Eid.
