KARACHI: After the video went viral online, Salman Farroqi has been detained by the Karachi police via mobile phone location, according to media reports.
The accused was arrested from the Defence area of the city and has been shifted to the police station for further investigation, according to a police official.
Earlier, Salman Farooqi was seen publicly beating a young man in DHA Karachi.
In the viral video, the victim’s sister is repeatedly begging for mercy, but the man does not relent. The attack was done in the Ittehad Town area of DHA Karachi.
Salman Farooqi is seen physically assaulting a teenager, in the presence of a girl, who is the alleged sister of the victim, begging the businessman to stop beating her brother.
According to the details, the suspect, Salman Farooqi, is allegedly the chief executive officer of an advertising firm, Bionic Films.
SSP Karachi South, Mahzoor Ali, confirmed that the incident was brought to the notice of the police through social media and that no complaint had been lodged yet.
