Security tightened in Islamabad as UAE President arrives in Pakistan today

UAE extends $2 billion loan rollover for Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is arriving in Pakistan on an official visit today.

A public holiday has been declared in Islamabad on the occasion of the visit, while security and air arrangements have been finalized.

According to media reports, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will arrive in Pakistan today at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Important meetings are scheduled with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and other senior officials during the visit.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, this visit aims to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UAE.

Detailed discussions are expected on trade, investment, energy, development projects and other areas of cooperation in the meetings.

A public holiday has been declared in the federal capital, Islamabad, today due to the UAE President’s visit.

Pakistan Secretariat and all federal offices will remain closed, while the Senate Secretariat, the National Assembly Secretariat, the Islamabad High Court, and the District Courts will also remain closed today.

The Federal Constitutional Court has also cancelled today’s cause list.

According to the Cabinet Division, hospitals, banks, essential services, the Metropolitan Corporation, CDA, Islamabad Administration, Police, IESCO, and Sui Northern Gas offices will remain open as usual.

According to media reports, upon the arrival of the UAE President, Pakistan Air Force fighter jets will escort the presidential plane into the airspace.

Pakistan Air Force JF-17 Thunder aircraft will escort the presidential plane from the right and left sides.

According to sources, Pakistani fighter jets will also escort the guest plane to the international airspace during the departure of the UAE President.

The Pakistan Airports Authority has prepared a special plan for Pakistan’s airspace today under security arrangements so that the presidential visit can be completed safely and gracefully.
