Under stringent security protocols, he was brought before the court of Duty Magistrate Syed Jahangir Ali regarding the GHQ attack case.
Police requested a 30-day physical remand of the former foreign minister at the beginning of the hearing, but the PTI vice president’s attorneys objected.
The attorneys contended that the defendants in the violence cases of May 9 had been found not guilty and pleaded with the court to clear Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
The prosecution requested a 30-day physical remand, but the duty magistrate rejected the request and returned the defendant to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand later in the afternoon after announcing the reserved verdict.
