Shehbaz Sharif to attend key Gaza meeting in Washington

Pakistan Intensifies Diplomacy Amid Middle East Tensions, PM to Visit China from May 23

LONDON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will arrive in Washington from the UK today, where he will represent Pakistan at the Gaza Board meeting, according to sources.

The Gaza Board meeting will be held tomorrow, February 19, with the focus on the reconstruction of Gaza, consolidating the ceasefire, and funding pledges.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will also join the delegation along with the Prime Minister.

The Pakistani delegation will discuss issues of humanitarian assistance, restoration of infrastructure, and immediate assistance to the victims in the meeting.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will emphasize further strengthening international cooperation for Gaza and the timely fulfillment of aid pledges in the meeting.

Representatives of other participating countries will also discuss measures for the rehabilitation and peace of the Palestinian people in the meeting.

The Pakistani delegation will focus on transparent distribution of funds, provision of basic facilities, and sustainable peace.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan will always stand with the Palestinian people and will urge the international community to fulfill its responsibility.
