LAHORE: Aleema Khan, the sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has asked Sher Afzal Marwat to join another political party.
Aleema Khan, while talking to the media, said that Sher Afzal Marwat has been expelled from the party, and responding to his statements is unnecessary.
She added that Sher Shah can be released, then other political prisoners should also be released.
She further declared that the sentence handed down to the PTI founder was illegal.
She noted that the PTI founder himself had removed Sher Afzal from the party, and therefore, he should refrain from commenting on the party’s affairs.
Earlier, the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court approved the post-arrest bail application of Aleema Khan’s son, Sher Shah, in the May 9 Jinnah House attack case.
PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s wife Mehreen Qureshi, accused Sher Shah’s lawyers Rana Mudassar and Barrister Taimur appeared in the court.
Anti-terrorism court judge Manzar Ali Gul heard the case. Lawyer Rana Mudassar took the position that the accused has not yet been charged in this case.
Lawyer Rana Mudassar argued that the accused, who had more serious charges than Sher Shah, were granted bail; there is no such allegation against Sher Shah that he had vandalized, and no one else can be implicated just by identifying one accused.
After hearing the arguments, the court reserved the decision on the bail of Sher Shah, the nephew of the founder of PTI.
The court ordered Sher Shah to be released against surety bonds of one lakh.
