KARACHI: Sindh cabinet waives death certificate fees, here on Monday.
According to the spokesperson, approval has been given to abolish the registration fee for death certificates at the municipal, union council, and town committee levels.
The spokesperson said that this decision was taken in continuation of the cabinet approval of free birth registration in September 2024.
The Sindh Chief Minister said that under the new arrangement, the Sindh government will bear the cost of NADRA’s service charges, citizens will be able to obtain death certificates without any fee.
The Sindh Chief Minister said that the decision was taken with the support of the Law Department and the Finance Department.
According to the spokesperson, the decision was presented to the cabinet after the Chief Secretary’s approval.
In addition, the Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that digital registration of important events should be promoted under the Sindh Local Government Act 2013.
The decision has been taken to further strengthen the province’s CRVS system.
