Sindh abolishes job quota for deceased employees’ children

Sindh govt unveils workers' welfare card

KARACHI: The Sindh Cabinet has decided to abolish the employment quota for the children of deceased employees following a directive from the Supreme Court.

A notification has been issued stating that no further appointments will be made under the deceased employees’ quota in the province.

The policy allowed the hiring of candidates under the deceased quota framework.

Earlier this year, the Punjab government also revoked Rule 17-A pertaining to government jobs for the children of public servants who passed away during their service.

Under the previous provisions, a son, daughter, or widow of a deceased government employee was eligible for a government position.
