SPARC makes important prediction regarding Muharram moon

ISLAMABAD: SPARCO says that the chances of seeing the Muharram moon on June 15 are very low, the first Muharram 1448 AH is expected to be on Wednesday, June 17.

The issued statement says that the birth of the new moon is expected on June 15 at 7:54 am, the age of the moon at sunset on June 15 will be 11 hours and 50 minutes.

In coastal areas, the interval between sunset and moonset is likely to be 40 minutes, the final decision on the moon of the new Islamic year will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

On the other hand, the Meteorological Department also made a prediction regarding the sighting of the moon of Muharram 1448 AH. The Meteorological Department says that the birth of the new moon will occur on June 15 at 7:54 am, so the chances of the moon being seen across the country on June 15 are negligible.

According to the Meteorological Department, the moon will not be seen on the evening of June 15, i.e. 29 Zil-Hijjah. The weather is expected to be clear or slightly cloudy in most parts of the country on June 15.

The moon will set in Punjab at 7:59 pm. The moon will set in Sindh at 8:55 pm. The moon can be seen in Azad Kashmir until 8:7 pm, while the moon will set in Gilgit-Baltistan at 8:12 pm. In addition, the moon will set in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at 8:23 pm and the moon will set last in Balochistan at 8:34 pm.

It should be noted that the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to sight the moon of the new Islamic year and Muharram-ul-Haram will be held on the evening of June 15 at the historic Badshahi Mosque in Lahore.
