Sui Northern announces new gas supply schedule

Sui Northern announces new gas supply schedule

LAHORE: The  Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) will reduce gas delivery to six hours per day because the gas supply situation in Lahore has developed into a critical condition.

The gas supply will stop from the afternoon until the evening despite existing low-pressure conditions. The sources report that breakfast and dinner periods will receive gas supply because of the way the schedule has been organized.

Officials announced that the system now experiences multiple supply interruptions, which have made it impossible to deliver gas to customers three times per day, and two times per day has become increasingly hard to achieve.

The company faces difficulties in maintaining constant gas pressure for its customers because interruptions in LNG imports have created a major issue for its operations.

The ongoing gas shortage has forced citizens to limit their gas usage because the current supply situation will continue to affect their daily activities.

Earlier, the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Company (SNGPL) started unannounced load shedding even during cooking hours.
There are fears that the gas crisis in Lahore city will become serious because the load shedding period has been further extended due to gas shortage in the system.

Unannounced gas load shedding has also been started during cooking hours. The company has decided to supply gas three times a day during cooking hours.

A schedule has been made for gas supply from 5:30 to 9 in the morning and from 12 to 2 in the afternoon, while a schedule has been made for gas supply from 5:30 to 9 in the evening, but despite the schedule, gas is not being provided to domestic consumers during cooking hours.

The pressure has started to come down due to the increasing shortfall in the Sui Northern Gas Company’s system. Due to the current war situation, the company is also facing a gas shortage.
