US cancels visas of 450 International students including Pakistanis

US tightens Green Card rules for foreign visa holders

ISLAMABAD: According to reports, the United States has canceled the visas of nearly 450 international students, including Pakistani students, from multiple universities.

The visa cancellations were done without advance notice and legal process and inconvenienced students from various universities, including Harvard University, Stanford University, UCLA, and the University of Michigan.

Some students targeted were those who participated in pro-Palestinian demonstrations, while others had their visas cancelled even though they had not attended any protests.

Universities are providing legal support for students impacted by the cancellations, while human rights activists have raised concerns and questions about the sudden cancellations.

Visa cancellations have occurred amidst SEVIS audits, leaving international students confused and anxious about their status.

Cancellations of visas have occurred for various reasons, and while nothing has been confirmed, multiple officials will indicate that the government is quietly cracking down on international students.
