PESHAWAR: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is meeting in Peshawar to observe the moon of Ramadan 2025.

The committee, chaired by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad, includes members from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Pakistan Meteorological Department, and The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission.

Zonal members from major cities like Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Quetta are contributing their deliberations.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, “The moon of Ramadan 1446 AH will be sighted or a very good chance of sighting is there.

However, as per the previous forecast, the first day of Ramadan 2025 in Pakistan is estimated to be March 02.

Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar, is the month when Muslims fast, reflect spiritually, and discipline themselves according to Islamic principles, refraining from eating, drinking, gossiping, and cursing.

During this time, Muslims devote themselves to prayer, reading the Quran, and charitable deeds.
