Work from home for government offices in Islamabad’s red zone, key ministries to remain open as usual

ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Division has issued an official notification of work from home for ministries and divisions established in Islamabad’s red zone today, June 23.

According to the notification, all ministries and divisions established in the red zone will work from home (work from home) on June 23, however, key government institutions and ministries will remain open and perform their duties as usual.

According to the notification, the Prime Minister’s Office, Cabinet Division and Finance Division will function as usual. Similarly, the offices of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Law, Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Industries and Production will also remain open.

Office affairs will also continue as usual in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Planning Division, Senate Secretariat and National Assembly Secretariat.

Instructions have been issued to the relevant institutions in the notification issued by the Cabinet Division.

Islamabad High Court closed, court proceedings suspended due to red zone closure

The Islamabad High Court will also remain closed today due to the arrival of a foreign delegation, a notification has been issued. According to the notification, all cause lists for today have been canceled, while officers and officials have been instructed to work from home.

This notification was issued by Registrar Muhammad Yar Walana with the approval of Chief Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar.

The notification states that due to the closure of the red zone, litigants, lawyers and court staff may face severe difficulties in reaching the High Court, in view of which no court proceedings will be held in the Islamabad High Court today. However, the district courts of Islamabad will remain open and continue to function as usual.

Furthermore, all officers and officials have been directed not to leave the station without prior permission from the concerned authority.

Judicial work suspended in Federal Constitutional Court Islamabad

Due to the closure of the red zone, there will be no judicial work in the Federal Constitutional Court Islamabad principal seat today, while today’s cause list has also been canceled.

According to the issued notification, all judicial proceedings will remain suspended today in view of the difficulties faced by lawyers, litigants and court staff. The court has issued instructions to all officers and staff to work from home.

The notification states that court staff and officers will not be allowed to leave the station without prior permission.

However, the four branch registries of the Federal Constitutional Court will remain open as usual for conducting judicial and administrative matters.

Election Commission hearings postponed today due to road closure

The Election Commission has postponed today’s hearings due to road closure, while several cases have been delisted.
According to the Election Commission, the petition regarding the suspension of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senate by-elections will also not be heard today.
