Acid attack victim Dr Mahnoor Nasir undergoing treatment in Karachi, condition stable

QUETTA: Young Doctors have announced to close all services except emergency in government hospitals in Quetta from today against the incident of throwing acid on a lady doctor Dr Mahnoor Nasir.

Young Doctors called the acid attack incident a security failure in a press conference and demanded an impartial investigation into the incident.

Balochistan Assistant Home Minister Babar Yousafzai says that instead of protesting, young doctors should hold talks with the health department.

Babar Yousafzai said that closing services in the ward and OPD will cause problems for patients. The attempt to blackmail the government will not succeed, we are checking who the accused was in contact with.

It should be noted that the lady doctor who was the victim of acid attack at Sandeman Hospital in Quetta has been transferred to a private hospital in Karachi for treatment. According to the hospital administration, the female doctor has injuries on her neck, head and face, she will be kept in the intensive care ward for two days.

The accused of the acid attack was killed in an alleged police encounter on the other side. The Balochistan Health Minister says that the accused had been harassing the lady doctor for several months. Evidence of harassment has been found in the accused’s mobile phone messages.
